The new Snell-FIA CMH standard has been scientifically developed to create helmets designed for all young racing drivers. Researchers examined and measured the human head from age six onwards and several helmet shapes and sizes were defined. It led to the creation of a Youth Helmet Standard that will soon have to be attained by all young drivers’ helmets.
Under CIK regulations, the Snell-FIA CMH standard (CMR) is recommended for drivers under 18 years old and will be mandatory from 01/01/2010 latest for drivers under 15 years old. This standard is for Karting use only and is not accepted for persons older than 18 years.

Helmet Size
How to measuring your head to get the correct helmet size.
Using a tape measure or a piece of string, measure around your head just above the eyebrows and ears, as in the diagram. Take the measurement obtained in centimetres. This is your nominal helmet size. You may wish to buy a slightly larger or smaller size depending on your personal preference e.g. if you prefer a tighter fit, buy one size smaller. Helmet linings do compress, so if your helmet is slightly tight to start with, this is quite normal.
If possible, try on a helmet of the same make and model that you require, as size does vary between different helmet manufacturers.
